IPPUDO started in Fukuoka, the birthplace of Tonkotsu ramen. Since our founding in 1985, we have been experts in producing a variety of authentic Japanese ramen.

The brand Motto of IPPUDO is “ to continuously innovate while staying true to our roots.” Today, Japanese ramen has become a beloved comfort food in America, but this wasn’t always the case. In 2008, IPPUDO made a bold moe by opening its first overseas branch in Manhattan, New York.

By successfully demonstrating that authentic Japanese ramen could thrive in the “center of the world”, IPPUDO played a significant role in popularizing this culinary tradition in the U.S. Since then, we’ve extended our reach to the West Coast, opening restaurants in San Francisco and Berkeley, California.
